What I Like About Being a Maverick
I enjoy being part of a campus community that is focused on discovering new strategies to address barriers to involvement and success. Our students, staff, and faculty are fully committed to identifying emerging needs, listening to one another for ideas, and creating action plans that address core issues. The culture of creative problem solving around MSU gives me energy and motivates me to want to be better myself!
Why I Chose to Work at Minnesota State Mankato
I wanted to work in an environment where creativity and outside-the-box thinking were valued, so I was very impressed when I learned about how fluid Residential Life is in crafting innovative strategies and approaches to address evolving student needs. Instead of getting stuck in the same routine, Residential Life continuously adapts its strategies to meet the ever-changing needs of the students it serves.
Through my background in housing, I have been involved in ATCCHA and was a member of UMR ACUHO’s Assessment and Information Management Committee. With an interest in civic engagement and community-engaged learning, I have also been involved in Campus Compact’s regional conferences and Communities of Practice.
In my free time, you'll find me hammocking with a good book, hanging out with my dog, exploring the areas around Mankato, assembling alt-indie playlists, watching sports, or video gaming with friends!
