Outdoor Ice Rink- January 14

An opportunity to ice skate outdoors on the Minnesota State University, Mankato campus on Monday, January 14, 2019 Through Friday, January 18, 2019.

 The office of Residential Life and the Student Events team will host an outdoor ice skate rink for Minnesota State University, Mankato students, staff, faculty, and family. No entry fee will be charged. Located on the Performing Arts Lawn, the rink will be open for evening skating from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m on Monday, January 14, 2019 through Thursday, January 18, 2019 

 Select ice skates will be available for complimentary rental with MAVcard. Skate rentals are limited to first come first serve. Participants are encouraged to bring their own skates.  A warming house with heaters, benches, and refreshments will be provided. Operation of the rink is weather dependent. Should inclement weather require the rink to close, announcements will be made on the MNSU website and local media outlets. A Skating Night for MSU students will take place Monday, January 14 at all Seasons Arena 9pm to 12am with live Karaoke.

Tubing at Mount Kato- January 26

 Join us again on Jan. 26 for free tubing at Mount Kato! The Student Events Team and Mount Kato will be offering free tubing for students from 7-11 p.m. at 20461 State Hwy 66. Students must show their MavCard to get into the event. 

This is an annual event the Student Events Team hosts, and this will be the seventh year in a row. It tends to be a student favorite. Students can either take the free shuttles to and from the event or drive to Mount Kato. More information about Bus Routes will be announced on a later date. (each route takes 45-60 mins round trip) Shuttles will start around 6:30 p.m.

Ice Sculpture- February 4

Come celebrate the return to campus in the CSU Mall on February 4 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This event will feature a life size carving of the MSU Maverick Sign to be finished by 12 noon! There will also be hot chocolate, s’mores, and free cookies. Once completed the sculpture will remain up for 5 days for observation. 

This is the third time an ice carving has been hosted by the Students Events Team. It will be a perfect event for students to feel welcomed back and get them ready for a new semester.
