MLK Day of Service 2021

1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Pick up/Drop off locations

January 18, 2021 marks the 26th anniversary of the day of service that celebrates the civil right leader's life and legacy. Observed each year on the third Monday in January as 'a day on, not a day off', MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a day of service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities.

This year's MLK Day of Service will be a little different. Since we cannot meet in person to accomplish the projects, we are creating project packets for students to complete and return. Look for packets at the Community Engagement Office, 173 CSU, or at the residence hall front desks. Projects include:

  • Making cards for children in hospitals and shelters
  • Making toys for animals in adoption centers
  • Making covid masks for young adults ages 18-24 who are homeless
  • Making small packets of laundry detergent for people who need such support

Supplies will be in each packet. When you have completed the project, return it to the location you picked it up. Please complete all projects and return by Monday, January 18 at 4 pm

Be sure to post a photo of your completed project at
