The KMSU 2020 Fall Pledge Drive begins on Wednesday, October 21st! We're hoping you'll take a moment of your time to help keep our unique community programming on the airwaves with your support.

There are so many ways that KMSU and its listeners make great radio.  With your requests, calls, messages, and e-mails you help develop our playlists and give us feedback on how we're doing. Your voices enhance our ability to serve the community.  KMSU listeners also help us make great radio when you take a moment and help us out during our two pledge drives that we have each year.  The contributions from listeners like you are a massive part of our operating budget, and they also serve as a vote of confidence in the station.  Your pledges show the university that you value our role in the community, and the importance of that cannot be overstated.

This past year has been full of so much uncertainty, and KMSU has not been immune to that.  We've adjusted our operations to make sure that our staff can be safe and healthy, and at the same time the volunteers that are responsible for the shows that you know and love stepped up and made adjustments to make sure that things continue uninterrupted.  It has been challenging, but they rose to the occasion.  KMSU listeners also rose to the occasion when we had our Spring Pledge Drive, making it an overwhelming success.  The process for the drive was very different than previous Spring drives, but listeners like you called and gave online and pushed us well past our overall goal.  It was humbling and reinforced just how grateful we are to be a part of this community and to have you in our corner.

One of the big changes from the Spring Drive was the fact that the Shuffle Function 24 Hour Pledge Drive A-Go-Go, an annual tradition for nearly two decades, had to be postponed.  The undertaking is a big one, with several volunteers and community voices taking part to make one 24 hour broadcast a success, but the fast moving pace of COVID news, combined with lockdowns and university precautions (all welcome and necessary) made the situation too unpredictable to keep everyone 100% safe.  It was decided that the radio marathon would have to wait. Luckily, the wait is over.

For the first time ever, the KMSU Fall Pledge Drive will feature Shuffle Function's 24 hour Radio Marathon.  Hosts Shyboy Tim and Shelley will be on the air live for one full day, surviving only on the basic human needs of caffeine, Rock and Roll, and your generosity.  Also for the first time ever, the 24 Hour Pledge Drive A-Go-Go will feature Polka 'Til You Puke, their annual three hour Polka party.  In addition to that, there will be bands and guests, lots of vinyl, and the potential of total and utter chaos, all while they desperately ask you for your financial support. The stakes are high, and the hours are long, but the fun will be endless.

The Shuffle Function 24 Hour Pledge Drive A-Go-Go will start at six p.m. on Thursday, October 29th and run through six p.m. on Friday, October 30th.  Check back for details and times for all of the fun things they have planned, as well as all of the fun things that all of your KMSU favorite will have in store for you.  There is a lot of amazing swag available as thank you gifts when you pledge, so click this hyperlink and check it out. Let's make this the best Fall Pledge Drive yet!
