Essential Checklist for Course Planning
Tech Success in Spring Course Design
Fall semester is well on its way and it’s time for faculty to start thinking ahead for spring. Before you begin, there are a few important updates you should know about that will make the tech side of course planning easier. We’ve streamlined the D2L Brightspace course request process and brought new and improved resources.
1. NEW! Look for Your Course in D2L
You asked, we listened! Instead of requesting and waiting for your courses to show up in D2L each semester, they will now automatically appear!
Have a special situation, want to opt out, or not seeing your course?
2. Check and Update Links Within Your Courses
Lynda.com Upgrading to LinkedIn Learning:
Lynda.com is upgrading to LinkedIn Learning on October 17th. Enjoy the same great content with upgraded features! Current links to Lynda.com will no longer work as of January 1st, 2020. After October 17th, log in to LinkedIn Learning, find the new URL, and replace the current link in your course by January 1st, 2020.
Kaltura Media Manager Now MediaSpace:
Same great software and capabilities, now integrated with the Minnesota State system. If you link to or use videos in your course currently in Media Manager, you will need to log in and change the URLs while creating your spring courses.
3. Visit the Re-Designed IT Solutions Instructional Design Web Page
Resources galore! From free online software to best practices, articles, and designer tips and tricks – the newly upgraded website has many resources to guide and support you in designing an interactive and results-driven course.
