Faculty Grant Funds Available for Open Educational Resources

Looking for ways to help lower the cost of learning materials in your classroom? IT Solutions and the library at Minnesota State University, Mankato are participating in a multi-campus collaboration to help reduce textbook costs for students. The open educational resources (OER) initiative has been awarded $80,000 in grant funds to support the development and use of OER during the 2019-2020 academic year. 


How Can I Find OER and Library Resources? 

Schedule a meeting with a librarian or Carrie Miller for help identifying and considering open or library-provided resources for your classes. 


How Do I Participate in the OER Initiative? 

Applications are due by October 23rd, 2019. Compensation up to $1,000 will be provided for selected participants. 

Apply to Our Campus Cohort

Projects may include adopting or developing an open education resource for your class, developing an open educational resource research project, or designing an assignment to promote student open authoring.
