Account locked out

Why is my account locked? Why does my account keep getting locked out?

Accounts generally get  locked automatically if there are three or more incorrect login attempts using your CAMPUS username and password.  This usually happens after some one changes their password but their old password is still saved somewhere on their machine.  If your account keeps getting locked out, follow these steps to unlocking it:

Clear User Passwords

  1. Click on the Start button.
    1. In Windows 7 or Vista, enter run in the Start Search and then press enter.
    2. In XP, simply choose run from the menu.
  2. The Run command prompt will appear in the bottom left-hand side of the screen. In the prompt, enter control userpasswords.
    1. Press enter or click OK.
  3. The User Accounts window will appear. Select the Advanced tab.
  4. Under the Passwords section, select Manage Passwords.
  5. Select all of the connections to MavPRINT, MavDISK, or MavNET listed and click Remove.

Clear MavDISK Mapping

  1. On Windows 7 or Vista, open Computer.
    1. For Windows XP, open My Computer.
  2. Right-click on the drive mapped to MavDISK, which may be labeled “username$(\\mavdisk).”
  3. Select Disconnect from the popup menu.

Clear MavPRINT Connection

Windows:

  1. Click on the Start button.
    1. In Windows 7, select the Devices and Printers option from the Start menu. 
    2. In Windows Vista select Printers
    3. In Windows XP select Printers and Faxes.
  2. For each MavPRINT print queue listed (i.e., MavPRINTBW, MavPRINTColor, MavPRINTCobBW on mavprint), right-click on the icon and select Delete from the pop-up menu.

Mac:

  1. Click on System Preferences on the dock.
  2. Select Users & Groups under the System section.
  3. Once the Users & Groups page shows up, select your name at the left hand side.
  4. Click Change Password that shows up in the middle section to the right of your profile picture.
  5. Enter your current password, new password, verify your new password.
  6. Once all of this is filled in, select Change Password at the bottom right.
  7. Restart your computer and you should be set to use MavPRINT again.

Clear MavNET Windows 7/Vista

  1. Click on the Start button.
  2. Select Control Panel.
  3. In Windows 7, select View by: Category.
    1. In Vista select the Control Panel Home view. Click on View Network Status and Tasks below Network and Internet.
  4. Under Tasks, click Manage wireless networks.
  5. From the list of networks displayed, select MavNet-Encrypted.
  6. Click Remove on the toolbar.

Clear MavNET Mac

  1. Click on Finder.
  2. At the top bar, click Go, located to the right of the apple symbol.
  3. In the menu that drops down, click on Utilities.
  4. When the window opens up, click on Keychain Access.
  5. In the Keychain Access page Click on "MavNet-Encrypted" and press the delete key. Click delete

Clear MavNET Windows XP

  1. Click on the Start button.
  2. Select Control Panel.
  3. If you are in Category View, click on Network and Internet Connections then under the Control Panel icon, click on Network Connections
    1. If you are in Classic View, double-click on Network Connections.
  4. Right-click on the connection for your wireless network card and select Properties from the menu. This may be titled “Wireless Network Connection”, “Local Area Connection”, or some similar variation.
  5. Select the Wireless Networks tab from the connection properties window.
  6. Click “MavNet-Encrypted”.
  7. Click Remove to delete the profile.

Clear Saved Passwords From Internet Explorer 8

  1. Open Internet Explorer 8.
  2. Click on the Tools drop-down menu (located in the upper right-hand corner)
  3. Select Internet Options.
  4. From the General tab, click Delete.
  5. Click Delete All. If you receive a prompt asking for confirmation, click Yes.

Clear Saved Passwords From Internet Explorer 9

  1. Open Internet Explorer 9.
  2. Click the Tools drop-down menu (the gear symbol located in the upper right-hand corner).
  3. Select Internet Options.
  4. From the General tab, click Delete.
  5. Select the Passwords checkbox and click OK. If you receive a prompt asking for confirmation, click Yes.

Clear Saved Passwords From Mozilla Firefox

  1. Open Firefox.
  2. Under the Tools menu, select Options.
  3. Select the Security Tab.
  4. Click the Saved Passwords box. 
  5. Select any MNSU related items and remove them.
