Chris Hvinden, Director of Development, College of Allied Health and Nursing
Bachelor of Science, Health and Physical Education Teaching
Minnesota State University, Mankato, '99
I was raised in Rosemount, MN and I am a first-generation college graduate of Minnesota State University, Mankato ('99). I played hockey for the Mavericks, and my first career was in coaching at Minnesota State Mankato with the Women’s Hockey Team. I coached for 4 years with the University.
I have made it back full circle to Minnesota State Mankato after a career in Pharmaceutical Sales and Financial Advising. I have two children, one a junior in high school and the other a sophomore in college at Minnesota State Mankato. Every day I try to use my work as an opportunity to use my talents and abilities in a meaningful way.
In another life, I'm pretty sure I was a musical performer. I find myself singing all the time.
If I won the lottery tomorrow, I'd start a sports skills company. And, you know, keep working here.
The best piece of advice I've ever been given is be kind to people and treat people as you would like to be treated.
The most inspiring part of my job is seeing a donor’s gift having impact on students and the appreciation students have for the donor’s generosity.
