Completed applications must be submitted, included all required material, five (5) working days prior to the start of classes. Under certain circumstances, the University may institute an earlier priority admission deadline.
Note: If you were formerly enrolled at Minnesota State Mankato after you graduated high school or completed a degree here, there is no need to go through the application process again. Please contact the Registration Help Desk at 507-389-2252.

If you have less than 24 college level credits completed (after high school graduation) at the time of application, submit your final high school transcript and ACT score.
Note: If you have only attended a technical or career institution(s), the Admissions Office still may request a final high school transcript to be on record in order to process an application.
Request that official transcripts from ALL post-secondary institutions be sent directly to the Office of Admissions in official format-such as mail or by official online services sent from the institution. (Transcripts are NOT official if the envelope in which they were issued has been opened or sent via fax or PDF).
Note: If you are currently attending, or have attended previously, a Minnesota State related institution an eTranscript will be retrieved by our Admissions Office.
Note: Military service members and veterans applying are welcome to send their military transcripts to the admissions office for potential credit here at Minnesota State Mankato.
Once you have been accepted:
- Tell us you are coming!
- Visit www.mnsu.edu/enroll and tell us you plan to enroll
- Apply online for Residential Life Housing.
- Please confirm your enrollment before signing up to reserve housing.
- Fill out the FAFSA form to apply for financial aid. The University's code is 002360.
- Sign up for a required transfer orientation.
- Summer orientation is where you will register for your fall semester courses.
You will not be able to sign up for orientation until you have completed the enrollment confirmation step above.
An official credit evaluation will be completed by our Registrar's Office. This evaluation can take 10 business days to complete from the time you are admitted to Minnesota State Mankato.
Update Minnesota State Mankato Office of Admissions as to any address and telephone number changes. Submit your immunization form to Student Health Services to ensure your immunizations are up to date.
After completing your studies at your current school have an official transcript sent to the Office of Admissions.
