Option 1: Essential Online

  1. Develop a communication plan and share with your students
  2. Create a plan for each module
    1. Introduction to topic
    2. Learning Outcomes
    3. Learning Activities
  3. Use Content in D2L Brightspace:
    1. Share your module introduction, outcomes
    2. Create Activities with D2L like Discussions, Assignments, Quizzes
    3. Add Activities into Content modules
  4. Keep your course simple, consistently organized
  5. Stay in weekly contact with students through feedback, discussions, email
  6. Use Grades to help students stay up to date on their progress

 

Option 2: Meeting Online

  1. Develop a communication plan and share with your students
  2. Create a plan for each meeting
    1. Select an online meeting tool, e.g. Zoom
    2. Preparation tasks
    3. During the meeting activities
    4. Follow-up assignments
  3. Use Content in D2L to organize meetings:
    1. Share meeting plan
    2. Provide instructions on how and when to join your Zoom meetings
    3. Add in Discussions, Assignments, Quizzes as needed
  4. Keep your course simple, consistently organized
  5. Stay in weekly contact with students through feedback, discussions, email
  6. Use Grades in D2L to help students stay up to date on their progress

 

Option 3: Simple Online

  1. Develop a communication plan and share with your students
  2. Create a plan for each week
    1. Reading assignments, other learning tasks
    2. Self-check comprehension activities
    3. Some weeks might include a formal evaluation (test, essay, etc…)
  3. Use Content in D2L to:
    1. Upload a Word doc with the plan for the week
    2. Upload a Word doc with specific, detailed instructions for each activity
  4. Keep your course simple, consistently organized
  5. Stay in weekly contact with students through feedback, discussions, email
  6. Use Grades in D2L to help students stay up to date on their progress
