MONDAY, AUGUST 17

9:00 – 10:00 am: President’s & Provost’s Convocation Address

The Provost and President will provide a review of the 2019-2020 academic year as well as their plans and aspirations for 2020-2021. You may watch the full recorded Convocation Address here.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 18

8:30 am – 10:00 Am : New Faculty: Headshots    

New faculty will be provided the opportunity to take a professional photo that can be used on the University websites and other spaces such as Office 365, Zoom, and D2L to personalize their pages.                                    

 

9:00 am – 4:15 pm: New Faculty Orientation   

This workshop will assist in orienting you to MSU, Mankato, by providing information and resources to guide your teaching and scholarship as well as an opportunity to network with others across campus. New faculty members will also have the opportunity to have professional headshots taken on the morning of the workshop. This workshop will be delivered as a hybrid event. Faculty will be able to choose if they would like to join virtually or in-person with social distancing. Physical seats will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis unless a participant has an accommodation requiring physical attendance. If you plan to attend either virtually or in-person, please fill out our brief survey here. Please RSVP by August 11th at 4 pm.  

 

8:30 – 8:55 am: Faculty Association (FA) All Committee Members Brief Meeting

FA Committee members will have a brief meeting to receive updates and discuss work for the 2020-2021 academic year.

 

9:00 – 9:55 am: FA Committee Meetings:

Each FA Committee will meet with members to review roles, charge, and pre-view work and upcoming meetings.

10:00 am – 12:00 pm: Faculty Association Executive Fall Retreat Committee Meeting

The FA Executive Committee will meet for their annual fall retreat to establish plans and priorities for the upcoming year.

                                         

3:00 – 4:30 pm: Faculty Association General Meeting

The FA General Meeting will provide updates to the membership.

 

5:30 – 7:00 pm: New Faculty/Staff/Administrators: President’s Reception

New faculty, staff, and administrations will meet for a special gathering with the President.

 

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 19

 

8:30 – 10:00 am: New Faculty: Faculty Association Meeting                                       

New faculty will meet with FA leadership to learn about the organization and opportunities to get involved.

10:00 – 11:00 am: New Faculty: Institutional Diversity & Inclusion/EEO & Title IX/ Accessibility Resources Presentation

New faculty will meet with Institutional Diversity & Inclusion, EEO & Title IX, and Accessibility Services to learn about their programs and services.

12:30 – 1:30 pm: New Faculty: Library Services Orientation

New faculty will meet with Library faculty and staff to learn about programs and services.

1:00 – 2:15 pm: Graduate Faculty Meeting                                

Graduate Faculty will meet to discuss the 2020-2021 academic year.                                                                                                                                    

FRIDAY, AUGUST 21

 

10:30 am – 12:00 pm: New Student Rally & Backyard Bash                        

Faculty, staff, alumni, and friends are invited to the Backyard Bash

New faculty, staff, alumni, and friends will safely gather to network and meet one another.
