New Department Chair Training Day One

As an introductory learning opportunity, the New Department Chair training aims to develop faculty and staff as leaders in their programs. Department Chairs serve as both leaderships for their department and management of technical department responsibilities. Faculty and staff will be admitted to the program at the beginning of their first term as department/director role. This program will last for one and a half days, to take place shortly after assuming their role as department chair/director.

Day Two:

9:00-9:30 am- Grounding

9:30-10:30 am- Enhancing Access and Student Sucess

10:30-10:40 am- Break

10:40-11:20 am- Budget Practices and Principles for Equitable Use of Finacial Resources

10:40 am-12:00 pm- Navigating University Resources

12:00-12:10 pm- Break

12:10-12:50 pm- How to use release time and mapping out the work responsibilities

12:50-1:00 pm- Wrap up and Reflection
