Professional learning communities are collaborative interdisciplinary groups that meet several times per semester to explore teaching and learning topics.

FACULTY Learning Communities

Support for new fixed term and probationary faculty during their first year at the University. The group will meet monthly to discuss the transition to the institution and the University community. By the end of the academic year, participants will able to identify campus support resources and apply best practices for teaching and course design.

Support for fixed term and probationary faculty in their second year at the University. The group will meet monthly to discuss the increasing responsibilities of academic advising, scholarship, and research and reflect upon challenges and lessons learned during their first year at the University.

An informal gathering of women who work in higher education. Topics vary based on current events and participant interest.

  • First-Year Experience Faculty Cohort

This cohort supports instructors who are teaching first-year experience courses in Fall 2021. This cohort meets in September, October and November.

  • Third through Fifth Year Cohort

Support for fixed-term and probationary faculty in their third through fifth year at the University. The group will meet monthly to discuss the increasing responsibilities of academic advising, scholarship, and research and reflect upon challenges, and working toward tenure and promotion.
