Campus Status Update
Minnesota State University, Mankato’s goal is to mitigate the potential for transmission of COVID-19 within our campus and additional locations. Achieving this goal requires full cooperation among students, employees, and members of our campus community. Only through a cooperative effort, can we establish and maintain the safety and health of our University.
Last Updated: January 13, 2021
Out of an abundance of caution and due to new recommendations from the Minnesota Department of Health in regard to the Governor’s Executive Order 20-99 (EO) on Nov. 18, we are moving our current safety level to Orange. The applicability of the safety color levels is determined by the President’s Cabinet and is based on factors contained in this guidance from the Minnesota Department of Health along with advice from campus and local public health officials.
Orange status triggers the kinds of safety measures we have already taken on our campus, in addition to the following:
- Face coverings are required indoors and encouraged outdoors
- FlexSync courses will transition to remote delivery and eliminate in-person class meetings
- Access to on-campus housing is limited to residents only
- Many in-person campus events are postponed or cancelled
