First of all, make sure you have all the important documents in a safe place; like your Visa (Passport), I-20 (all of them), and your high school transcript. All of this you will be using again in the future so make sure you remember where you put them; also take pictures of them so you have electronic copies.

Secondly, let's talk about where to shop! We have buses and shuttles around campus to take you everywhere you want. You can go and have some fun at River Hills Mall, you can do your grocery shopping at Walmart, Hy-Vee (ask for the student discount), Cub Foods, and Aldi.

You will need supplies for school as well, like notebooks, pens, backpack, and even electronic devices from Walmart, Five Below (Everything is below $5), and Dollar Tree (Everything is $1!!)

From my own experience, when I first came to Mankato, I got to meet many amazing friends from around the world. I got to learn about new cultures, new perspectives, and I discovered a new me! I started joining many activities, and committees through Student Government on campus so I can learn from other students who are just like me, on how to be successful!

We all have dreams and goals; and more importantly, our love for our family. So my last advice to you is to be yourself, be kind, study hard, play hard, and make a memorable time here in Mankato!

Best of luck to you, my friend.
