Minnesota State Mankato Cancels Tonight’s Bonfire, Fireworks Due to Rain, Wind

Event will not be rescheduled.

Mankato, Minn. – Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Student Activities office announced that tonight’s (Monday, Sept. 30) bonfire and fireworks have been cancelled as a result of forecasted rain and wind and will not be resecheduled.

Homecoming week at Minnesota State Mankato begins today (Monday, Sept. 30) and runs through Saturday, with “Land of 120,000 Mavericks” being the 2019 theme.

University and student activities throughout the week are open to the public.

Minnesota State Mankato’s Homecoming has been in existence since 1928. Homecoming week offers students and alumni a way to display their pride and school spirit. Homecoming also allows the greater Mankato community a chance to learn about the university and take part in the celebrations. A complete list of Homecoming events is available online.

Minnesota State Mankato, a comprehensive university with 14,227 students, is part of the Minnesota State system, which includes 30 colleges and seven universities.
