'Maverick Icons: Leaders with Big Ideas'

Mankato, Minn. – As part of Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Sesquicentennial celebration, the College of Business at the University is hosting “fireside chat style” interviews Thursday, Oct. 4 with four alumni whose “big ideas” changed an industry, business or norm.
The featured alumni include Daren Cotter (founder & CEO of InboxDollars), Rhoda Olsen (owner/CEO of Great Clips), John Frawley (director/CEO for the Minnesota Zoo) and Robyn Waters (former vice president of trend, design and product development for Target, founder and president of RW Trend, LLC).
The event is from 2-5 p.m. Thursday at the Verizon Center Banquet Hall in Mankato (1 Civic Center Plaza), with the alumni interviews from 2-4 p.m. and hors d’oeuvres reception from 4-5 p.m. The public is welcome, but seating is limited. The cost to attend is $50 per person or $400 for a table with seating for eight. $150 of the cost of a table is tax deductible towards a “STUDENT WITH BIG IDEAS” Scholarship Fund through the University’s Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Those attending will hear more about each speaker’s career path, their “Big Ideas” and the support and challenges they faced along the way. More information on each speaker is available online.
