Oct. 17: Free 'Give Kids a Smile' Dental Clinic

a logo for a charityMankato, Minn. – Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Department of Dental Hygiene and area dental professionals are providing free dental care to area children (ages 5 to 17) Thursday, Oct. 17 in Minnesota State Mankato’s Clinical Science Building.

Appointments are available at 9 a.m. or 1 p.m. by calling 507-389-2147.

All patients must have appointments in advance and be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Services provided include free cleanings, dental exams, X-rays, sealants and fluoride treatments.

The project is inspired by concern over a growing number of children who are unable to access needed dental care.

Minnesota State Mankato’s Department of Dental Hygiene is part of the University’s College of Allied Health and Nursing.

Minnesota State Mankato, a comprehensive university with 14,297 students, is part of the Minnesota State system, which includes 30 colleges and seven universities.
