MANKATO, Minn. – Minnesota State University, Mankato's Department of Music & Entertainment Industries presents an afternoon of classical piano music featuring faculty member David Viscoli at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 27 in Halling Recital Hall of the Earley Center for Performing Arts, 320 Maywood Ave.
The program features “Fantasy in C Minor, K. 475” by Mozart, “Le Tombeau de Couperin” by Ravel and “Sonata in B Minor, Op. 58” by Chopin.
Viscoli has performed extensively, both nationally and internationally. Performances of note include concerts in Korea, Taiwan, Panama, Europe and Canada, and at the University of Texas at Austin, the University of Washington, the University of Iowa, the Ohio State University, and the University of Oregon. He received his master's and doctoral degrees from the University of Southern California as a student of John Perry. He has won awards in the Los Angeles Liszt Competition, the Carmel Music Society Piano Competition and the Joanna Hodges International Piano Competition. Viscoli records on the Eroica label. He is currently professor of piano at Minnesota State Mankato.
Concert admission is $9 for community members and $7 for K-12 and children. Minnesota State Mankato students are admitted free with a valid MavCARD.
