The safety of our students and employees remain paramount. Our campus will be open and ready to welcome students in the fall, while adapting as necessary to safely serve them and provide them with an extraordinary education.

Positive Notification Processes

Minnesota State University, Mankato values the health and safety its students, faculty, staff, and visitors. To assist with maintaining a healthy campus community, the University asks students and employees to follow these notification procedures to assist with any response to positive COVID-19 cases.

Face Coverings

All faculty, staff, students, and visitors are required to wear a face covering over both the nose and mouth at all times when indoors on campus or in other university facilities.

This decision is based on guidance from Gov. Walz’s Executive Order 20-74 and recommendations from the CDC.

Custodial Services and Cleaning Response

Building Services will clean and disinfect campus spaces once per day and restrooms twice per day in accordance with MDH and CDC guidelines. CDC approved quaternary disinfectant will be applied when sanitizing.

COVID-19 Preparedness Plan

  • Work on our University’s COVID-19 Preparedness Plan is underway, guided by a Return to Learn Advisory Committee.
  • The work of the Advisory Committee is focused on coordinating planning across a range of potential scenarios. It is supported by action teams focused on five key areas: student learning; student life; employee return; financial sustainability; communications and enrollment; and partnerships.
  • The work of the Advisory Committee is also supported by a Pandemic Operations and Tactics team focused on precautions and steps that must be taken in the context of COVID-19.
