The concert will feature soprano Molly Schumacher performing “The Doll’s Song” from the opera, Tales of Hoffman. Schumacher won a Department of Music concerto competition in November and earned the right to perform the piece with the orchestra.

The university orchestra provides a laboratory for the study of orchestral playing and a practical introduction to orchestral literature. Orchestra Director Joseph Rodgers has transformed the university orchestra by inviting area community members to join the former university orchestra to perform with university student musicians.

General admission is $9 and $7 for students with a valid MavCard. Discount tickets are available online for University students. Advance purchase is strongly encouraged. Those who wish to purchase tickets online should go to www.mnsu.edu/music.
