April 19: Country Artist Eric Paslay to Perform on Campus

Mankato, Minn. – Country artist Eric Paslay, described on his website “as a renowned, Platinum-selling, hit songwriter and dynamic performer” who has “celebrated five No. 1 hits,” will perform at Minnesota State University, Mankato on Thursday, April 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the Taylor Center.

The concert is for all ages and is open to the public. The concert hosts are the Student Events Team and local radio station Minnesota 93 (Country 93.1 KATO).

Tickets went on sale Monday, Feb. 19 at 10 a.m. Tickets may be purchased at www.mnsuevents.com or in person with cash, check or credit card at the Student Activities front desk (Centennial Student Union 173) from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, contact Alex Wieland, concert chair for the University’s Student Events Team, by phone at 507-389-6076 or email at alexander.wieland@mnsu.edu.

All tickets are general admission with standing room on the floor. Public tickets are available for $15. There are 400 free tickets available to Minnesota State Mankato students (one free ticket limit per student), and there are 300 guest tickets ($10 each) available to Minnesota State Mankato students.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. on concert night, and free parking for this event will be available in Lots 20 and 21 (located adjacent to Blakeslee Stadium). There will be no re-entry to the concert once patrons leave, and no outside food, beverages, backpacks or flash photography allowed. Minnesota State Mankato is an alcohol-free, drug-free and tobacco-free campus. Use of substances will result in removal from the concert. Minnesota State Mankato bans weapons on campus.

There are also 50 VIP tickets for $30 that are available for student and public purchase that includes access to a 5:30 p.m. pre-party and free food, beverages, signed merchandise, exclusive seating and front row access.

According to his website, Paslay’s five No. 1 hits include “Even If It Breaks Your Heart” (Eli Young Band), “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” (Jake Owen), “Angel Eyes” (Love & Theft), “Rewind” (Rascal Flatts) and “FridayNight,” the lead single from his critically acclaimed self-titled debut album. The Temple, Texas, native is a recent GRAMMY nominee (first as a recording artist) in the Best Country Duo/Group category for “The Driver,” performed by Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley, featuring Eric and Dierks Bentley and a current “Song of the Year” nominee for “She Don’t Love You” at the upcoming ACM Awards on April 3.

Paslay is the first country act to perform at Minnesota State Mankato since Jerrod Niemann at the 2015 Homecoming concert. Recent spring concerts on campus have featured Hoodie Allen, Sammy Adams and Jeremih.

Student Events Team is a student-led organization that produces fun, interactive, educational events where students make lifelong memories and celebrate their Maverick pride. If students are interested in joining the team, the Student Events Team meets every Tuesday at 4 p.m. in CSU 245.
