April 18-21: Arrowhead Model United Nations Conference

Mankato, Minn. – Minnesota State University, Mankato’s College of Social and Behavioral Sciences is hosting the Arrowhead Model United Nations Conference on campus from Thursday-Sunday, April 18-21. More than 250 students from more than 10 Midwest colleges and universities are expected to participate.

The vision of the conference, according to the conference website, is to inspire young people to be global citizens.

Mark Ritchie, former Minnesota Secretary of State who is currently the president of Global Minnesota, will deliver a keynote speech. Ritchie’s speech, free and open to the public, will be in the University’s Centennial Student Union Ballroom on Saturday, April 20 at 7:30 p.m.

A banquet will be held beginning at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the Centennial Student Union Ballroom. Banquet tickets may be purchased at the door for $30.

Minnesota State Mankato students are invited to attend a Friday, April 19 speech from 6-8 p.m. by Margo Squire, a former U.S. Department of State official, in Centennial Student Union, Rooms 253/4/5. Squires’ speech is not open to the public.

Minnesota State Mankato, a comprehensive university with 14,227 students, is part of the Minnesota State system, which includes 30 colleges and seven universities.
